Ross, Not sure if this was another Richard as this one is listed on familysearch as marrying someone else and he died in Gerringong in 1878
The one listed in 1917 was only 43 years old so are you sure that is the correct death for your Richard
I am now thinking that this Richard on the bounty immigrant index is not your Richard and his family
you can check this family on www.familysearch.org
I will do some further checks on immigration to see if I can find anything
