If you visit a Mormon Family History centre you can order microfilm from the churches in Athlone. My grandmothers grandfather was christened there in 1828. He was Protestant so I got the film for St Mary's church and found his record. The other church is Catholic so if you know which religion she was, order the appropriate film. It costs $5. for them to order in the film and you have 3 or 4 weeks to view it. When I was going through the St. Mary's film, I wrote down all the details of anyone with the same last name and was able to later make assumptions about possible connections. Alternately you can use the Irish histroy site http://westmeath.brsgenealogy.com/search.phphttp://westmeath.brsgenealogy.com/search.php
you have to pay to get records, but you can search to see if what you are looking for is available.
Athlone sits on the border of Westmeath and Roscommon, so there is the possibility the records you seek could be in Roscommon. On the St. Mary's film there was actually other records related to real estate and I found valuable genealogical data in those records as well.
