Lorna, in my research of the MEAD family,I came across a marriage between William Henry MEAD and Margaret BATES in Forbes in 1871. They had 2 children , Mary born 1872 at Forbes and William Grosvenor born 1873 at Forbes.mrgaret BATES was the daughter of William BATES and margaret WYATT married in 1847 in Wellington. They had 3 daughters, Sarah b.1853, Margaret 1854 and Mary b.unknown,I have not as yet found the MEAD descendants.
