Sharon, I had already checked for christian name variations. The only thing I can think of is that none of their childrens births were registered although it was compulsory at that time
Do you have his death certificate?

If he was in the first world war then he may be listed on the national archives www.naa.gov.au
Maybe the children of this couple were adopted and not actually born to Arthur and Lucy?
