Hi Dianne,
have you done a Google search of "Matilda Dixie"?
If you do so you should enclose the words Matilda dixie within quotation marks " " for the best results.
ie "matilda dixie"
Doing so I found a bt of onformation on the widow Matilda DIXIE nee BROADBENT that had moved to Ballarat in Victoria.
Matilda remarried to an artist Frank GOLDSTRAW and there is a good story on that.

Mrs. Matilda Dixie had arrived in Ballarat as Matilda Broadbent in 1854.
