I have a copy of the "Biographical Register of The Australian Capital Territory 1820-1911",guess who rates a mention.
WOODMAN James born 1800 Oxford England;Parents Phillip and Hannah;arrived Australia Melbourne,20 July 1840 per Theresa(Bounty Immigrant);religion Cof E;educated Oxford University;arrived district 1860;occupation lawyer,teacher,tutor 1865 -1870,shopkeeper,hotelkeeper,Chief Clerk to Deputy Sheriff Port Phillip 1841-1847,resided Williamstown 1841 Port Phillip 1841-1847;Carcoar 1850,Bathurst 1850's,Tumut,Adelong,Yass 1859,Uriarra 1865-1870;established Melbourne Lodge of MUIOOF 1845;married 1828 London,spouse Emily Frances Jemima Caulfield VINCENT(seperated by deed 30 Jan 1841);children Amelia born 1829,Ellen Jessie born 1832,Charles James born 1835,Henry born 1837,George born1839 died 1840,all born London,Phillip H and possibly three others?died 6 July 1872 Uriarra;buried St Johns Church in Reid(suburb of Canberra).
It also has an entry for Charles James WOODMANa son of James WOODMAN and Emily Frances Jemima Caulfield VINCENT,born 1835 London and died 3rd May 1908 at Yass.
