The last people transported to Australia was in about 1845 in the Eastern States and 1868 in WA so he would NOT have been transported here. Much as we are proud of our convict heritage, we did not take 20th century criminals from other countries. There were various different schemes whereby young orphans & similar came to Australia in the 20th century, usually sponsered by churches or other charitable (?) institutions. Shipping lists to Australia were maintained by individual states until about 1920 & BDM registers were, and are still maintained by the states.
