JAMES CAMPBELL (Convict, arrived Australia 4/8/1847. b. Tyrone, Ireland 1816(?) d. Newcastle 1902)
•b. County Tyrone, Ireland, 1816 (?) d. 1902 Buried in Catholic section of Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle. NSW
•Sentenced to 7 years labour for burglary on 14th March 1837 in Tyrone. On the 19/4/1847 he departed Ireland for Australia onboard the “Calcutta II” and arr. in Sydney on the 4/8/1837
•He was 21 years old, of ruddy complexion, freckles, red whiskers that met under the chin and light hazel eyes. He was married (don’t know who to, and had a daughter, don’t know name) and he was RC religion.
