Is there anyone researching the life and times of Daniel Bresnahan, a plasterer from Castlemaine in Victoria? Daniel's parents were Daniel Bresnahan and Ellen Lawley, and he was born about 1828. Daniel was one of the Ragged Boys of London who came to Australia in 1849. The ship's passenger list says he was a native of Marylebone, London, but that may have been the location of the Ragged Boys School. Daniel married Margaret O'Donnell in 1852 in Melbourne. Their children were Mary, Catherine, Margaret and Daniel James, all born Castlemaine area.
I suspect Daniel was an uncle to my g. grandfather Edward Bresnahan who came to Australia in 1876.
Do hope someone out there knows of him.
Thanks! Margie Brown.
