Edward Davies, son of Edward Davies, tanner by trade.
I'm trying to trace my great-great grandfather, Edward Davies. He was a tanner and was born, probably, in the 1820s. He had a son, also named Edward, who was probably born in Newport in 1852.
The family emigrated to Melbourne, sometime in the 1850s, probably between 1852 and 1856.Edward set up a tannery on the Yarra River.
That is the sum total of my information; I do not know the name of his wife or any of his other children.
Any help, or even suggestions as to where I might look for information, would be most gratefully received. I have come to a dead end with this branch of my family.
