MILSOM in South Australia
Calling all South Australian Milsom's!
I am looking to make contact with anyone who has a Milsom in their family tree from South Australia. I am trying to track down my g-g-grandfather and it is proving to be a little tricky.
His name was George Milsom and I believe his fathers name *may* have been Robert. George was born about 1830 to a wealthy family in England but due to a chronic gambling problem he was "banished" to Australia as a Remittance man. Now I am not sure the exact date he arrived here but I do know that at some point in the late 1870's he met my g-g-grandmother Selina Hall nee Warner.
George and Selina had seven children:
George Alfred Milsom b. 14th April 1880
Robert Milson b. 26th June, 1882
William Milsom b.24th Dec, 1885
Edward Milsom b. 27th May, 1888
Alfred Frank Milsomm b. 9th April, 1889
Harry Victor Milsom b. 8th June, 1993
Mary Ann Selina Milson b. 1897
All during this time Selina was already married to a Daniel Hall and it was only in 1914 after a long affair that George and Selina were married. A year later in 1915 George Milsom died.
My line goes through their youngest child Mary Ann Selina Milsom.
If any of these names or dates sound familiar to anyone PLEASE feel free to get in touch. If anyone has any further information I'd be more appreciative than you know if you'd share.
Thanks!
Olivia Trim
