Henry Blyth Manderson 1886
I've just learned a great deal today about my grandfather Henry Blyth Manderson, who at the age of 18 became the youngest journalist at "The Age" newspaper in 1904. Among his achievements was being a founding member of the Australian Journalist Association in 1911, had the Japanese army surrender to him in Timor at the end of the second world war, discovered oil in Timor and plotted the first arial route from England to Australia.
He married Faye Albright in America and had five children (two in America and three in Australia) with my father being Max Manderson, now aged 73.
If anyone might have any information could they please contact me at [email protected].
Thanks
Campbell Manderson
