1834 Sydney arrival - can't find on ship lists - advice sought
Family history says that Michael McGrath (known later as Darby McGrath) arrived in Sydney from Waterford Ireland in 1834.In the 1850s he moved to Moreton Bay and was an early settler there. He married Mary Ann Connolly in Brisbane in 1849 and died in 1892 aged 93 in Ipswich.Ican find his history once he got to Queensland but no record of him in NSW.
His marriage and death certificate have no details of his parents - the relevant questions are left blank.
I've checked the NSW State record web sites of ship lists, unassisted and assisted immigrants and the convict lists but can't find a record of him.I've also checked the Irish web site Convict ship out listing but can't find anyone I can identify as Michael (Darby).
Seeking advice about how else I might try to find his arrival. Are there other sites I should be looking at.Any advice appreciated.
Thanks all
Anne
