Hi! Pauline
No I don't have any information about Susan M Cullen at all. I am assuming that her parents were John Cullen & Ella Honare Bell & that she was born in 1882 at Queabeyan.
I have been researching my father's family the Kennedy's of Adelong for about 15 years. They arrived in that district in 1849 & still have descendants there to-day.
My father Dennis Joseph Kennedy married Eileen Leslie in 1820 at the catholic church in Adelong, on their marriage cert. she stated that her parents Susan M. Cullen & Henry Leslie were both dec'd.
Dad & Eillen remained together till about 1930 when they split up.It appears that she moved away from Adelong while Dad moved to Sydney in 1932.
Dennis met my mother Kathleen there & I was born in 1938 at Paddington.
Dad & Eileen Leslie were never divorced as it was extremely expensive to do so in those days. although after I was born he certaintly did try (without any luck) to track her down & obtain a divorced.
There were a number of Leslies & also Cullens living in Adelong & working in the large gold mines about that time.
I have searched for the deaths of both Susan & Henry Leslie but without luck ( I haven't sent away for cert. as I have spent a small fortune on them over the years).
Henry Leslie might have been listed under another name ie. George Henry Leslie (Lesley?) & There was a Susan married in Wollongong after 1820, maybe Henry died & Susan remarried?
I would appreciate any asistance regarding Eileen Leslie's family at all I am hoping to also find out what ever became of Eileen.
Regards
Brian
