The transcription is for a marriage that took place 26 June 1897, Thomas HOWLETT age 57 Margaret GARDINER age 29.
Widow,Place of birth Cassilis (sic) NSW. Father George LOCK mother Catherine Morris.
I have 4 confirmed children being born to Thomas HOWLETT & Catherine GARDINER between 1897 - 1905
We knew she had been married twice, My husbands grandmother thought her surname was JACK. On the NSW BDM Registry I have found Margaret JACK born 1867 Murrurundi Parents George & Catherine . I found the marriage of this George JACK & Catherine MCFADDEN 1861 CassilisI found 5 other children for this couple and all were born in Cassilis.
I have had a look for Margaret LOCK and the only one I found was born 1863 Morphet to John & Mary A. I believethat the registry is not complete as I couldn't find Margaret's other marriage.
Also on the transcription there has been two items altered,
Widow was altered from Spinster and the date of the marriage was changed from 26/07/1897 to 26/06/1897 the alterations took place 10/07/1897
I would appreciate advice, comments and suggestions on this. I am unsure if I should claim it as those I am looking for or discard it as the wrong Thomas HOWLETT & Margaret GARDINER
