Hi Gemma,
Great to hear from you. I have quite a bit of information on the Scifleet family and would love to find out more about your Cordelia Jane.

The original Scifleet was in fact Edward Syfleet who was born in Kent in 1808. He was convicted of housebreaking in 1829 and arrived in Sydney Nov 1829 aboard the Layton. He married Jane McKellar in 1842 at Pittown.

Children of Edward and Jane
Edward Bir: 1843
Robert John Bir: 1845
William P S Bir: 1847
Aaron Henry Bir: 1849
Weller Moses Bir: 1851
John Frederick Bir: 1854
apparently at some time they had a female child that died but I have found no record of her.

There were two Cordelia Scifleet's in the family. The first was born Cordelia Mary Jane Scifleet born Mudgee 1874 to Robert John Scifleet and Mary Walsh
The second was Cordelia I Scifleet born Coonamble 1877 to William P S Scifleet and Mary Ann Taylor. (The PS, I think is Peter Samuel- but I'm not sure.)

The problem I have always had is trying to separate these two girls out and I could never tell with my limited resources which child born belonged to which of them or for that matter which marriage belonged to whom.

The other point is that I have a Jane Scifleet marrying a John A White in 1909 but it is at Narrabri (and no, I have not matched this marriage to anyone)

I have the English records from about 1730 in Kent for the Syfleet family and most of the records for the Scifleet's in Australia to the early twentieth century.

Contact me on my email: linfer56@hotmail.com if you would like more information and I would love to hear more of your research.

Cheers
Linda
