My name is Neil Thomson. I was born and still reside in Liverpool England. I am 31 years old, and have always known that my father Mr Alan Thomson, before meeting my mother, lived in Melbourne Australia. Only recently I have learnt that whilst in Melbourne (1967 – 1969) he fathered a son. The reason for this letter is that I am really interested in finding him. The only information I have is that he was born in 1969 and that his mothers name is/was Coleen Noble. Coleen and my father lived in St Kilda (29 Canterbury Road) and her parents lived in Collingwood.
My Father was a sailor with the Merchant Navy and had jumped ship to stay with Coleen. He was caught after around two years by immigration officials and sent back to England. Coleen was expecting a baby at the time of my fathers deportation.
He later received a letter from Coleen to say that she had given birth.
He never returned to Australia.
