Can anybody help?I am trying to find information on my Australian kin.They are all Hewett (But might be known as Hewitt).I have a Henry Hewett who published the Maryborough Advertiser and another newspaper at Sale.He married Mary Jane Gourlay in 1870. He lived at Raymond Street North and at 83 Langridge Street, Collingwood.He died on 11th. Nov. 1897 at 118 Westgarth Street, Fitzroy.
They had eight children:-
Emily b. 1872 married Charles Davis
William Frederick married Mabel Landry in 1898 had a daughter Rita.
William Frederick was a Freemason and Editor of The Albion newspaper in Melbourne and lived in Maryborough at some time. He died in 1906.
John Henry Long b. 1877 married Kathleen O'Byrne in 1908 had a daughter Dorothy.
Margaret b. 1879.
Charles E. b. 1882 married Elizabeth Turner in 1909 had three children, Madge Mary, William and Albert.
Arthur b. 1884 married Maizie Hefron in 1907 had one child Henry Glendore.
Herbert Allam b. 1889 married Ivy Chant
