Dear Michelle,

There is a Cemetery at Coburg, an inner suburb of Melbourne. If you ring this number
(03) if outside of Victoria plus 9359 3777- this is the telephone number of Fawkner Cemetery, which maintains the registers for Coburg Cemetery. you will find the staff most helpful and should be able to assist.

I checked the death registers for a John HOPLEY who died 1908 and could not find a death entry- however this does not mean he won't be where you expect to find him buried. I have had several of my relations die in Hospital and there was never a death certificate issued, but they certainly existed and found them buried near where they died.

So good luck
Regards
Gordon
