LOOKING FOR 1890's ACTOR ALFRED MONTAGUE
Posted by: Pamela Mondt Date: August 04, 2001 at 21:37:31

Hello Melbourne,

I am trying to find out how to trace an actor in a newspaper or perhaps a Variety Sheet that may give some information on my g-grandfather, who was an actor or show bussiness manager. His name was Alfred Worsley Montague, and he lived in Melbourne during the 1880's and 1890's, where he lived at 1 Greig Street. I hope that someone can direct me to a source where I can find out where he performed, and what kind of show bussiness he was involved in. Perhaps ther is a collection of play bills or posters in a cillection somewhere? Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Kind regards,
Pamela
