My great grandparents were Peter Joseph Austin and his wife Elizabeth Meegan. I am a decendant of their daughter Dorothy Kathleen born 1895 in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada who married Walter Andrew Decker born 1898 in Oakville, Ontario, Canada (Halton County) by their youngest son Allen Austin Decker. Since his mother died when he was 3 years old, my father knew little about her and what I have managed to find out came from his sister. There are 11 Austins buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Peter and Elizabeth came to Canada between 1881 and 1883 since their eldest two children were born overseas. The confusion for me is that the eldest is born in England, the second one in Ireland and the rest in Canada. I have not been able to find the family in census records overseas and so my research is at a halt.
The only other piece of information I have is that Peter's father's name is William. I got this from his death certificate.
Below is the family as I know them to be. If anyone has more information on the ancestors of these folks, I'd be grateful, or if you are related to any of them I would love to correspond with you. I do not know any of the relatives from this family except some of those in Irene's family.
