Austin family from Newfoundland. Margaret Austin to USA in 1923
I am trying to find any information on my Austin and Hunt families from Newfoundland. My great grandmother Margaret Hunt was born in Catalina, NF and married a Charles Austin.
Charles was a tailor on Water st. St. Johns NF and they had several children: Lillian,Florence,Blance,Olie Alice,Rita,Drucilla,Ralph. The children were born in Grand Falls and Margaret migrated to USA in 1923 as a widow, to live out her life in NY.She lived in the city and died in Lodgemont NY
where her daughter was living. All the children came with her except for Lillian who I have heard is buried with her father some years later in St. Johns cemetery NF. Charles was high in the Masons as well and they I believe were Methodist. Margaret had brothers I understand and one brother was already here when she migrated..John Hunt.I do not know what became of him.She had a brother Thomas and the children referred to someone in Canada as Uncle Harry?
Would love any information as I have researched for a long while and still have no leads.
Thank you for any help.
