I am just starting my family history and have only gotten back to my great grandfather, Walter Austen, who lived in New York City, probably the Bronx, since that is where my grandfather, Edgar Coy Austen, as born in 1888. Any leads would be appreciated. He reportedly was an armourer at one of the city's armories, according to my dad. Also, where in New York would be the best place to look for birth, death, etc. on him?
