Hi Phil,
Sorry to say I don't think our Aust's are from the same family. My grandfather was Johann Joseph August Aust (only known as August to me until a fairly recently)who came to New York in 1907 and lived there until his death in 1939. His older sister Clara joined him in New York in 1912. They are the only family members I've been able to track down. But I do know they lived on a farm in Schmottseiffen that had been in the family at least one prior generation.
