Hello Kathy, My name is Jeremy Aust. My gg grandfather was Heinrich Ast/Aust and his wife was Carolina "Lini" Ast/Aust. I think that they are the Henry and Lena that you discuss in your post. They Emmigrated from Illischestie, Bukovina Austria, in the late 1800's. All of the Aust's in Lewis County, WA. Emmigrated from Austria. If Kate was one of their children, she should have been born in Austria.I'm fairly confident that my great grandfather was their only child that was born in America.
I have more information on this, although my sister has all of my genealogy information, at the moment. Have you looked Bukovina Society of the Americas Home Page?
www.bukovinasociety.org/ They have a lot of good information on the Aust family. For example, the Aust's use to have the name Ast. They changed their name to Aust when they came to America.
A man by the name of John Losee (Jalosee@aol.com) has done a lot of research on the family. He would probably be able to help you.
