OBITUARIES of Thomas A. Ausley, husband of Emeline A. Cates Ausley. His parents were Almond and Amanda Brasington Ausley of Chatham County, NC. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda E. Ausley Maynor (b. abt. 1880 d. 19 May 1910). It is "believed" that Thomas may be buried at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery on Guess Road in Durham, NC, where his daughter Amanda is buried. The death certificate for Thomas states that he is buried "in the country."

Well Known and Aged Citizen of This City
Mr. T.A. Ausley, who lived at 302 Fuller Street, died last night at 10:55 after a long illness in which no specific complaint was given as the cause.
He had twice lived in Durham, coming here a year or so ago from Norfolk where he had spent ten years. He had previously lived in Durham and was known well to the people of Durham. He was sixty-nine years old and leaves two sons, W.B. Ausley and J.D. Ausley, of this city, and Mrs. J.M. Hopkins, a daughter. He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. E. A. Ausley, and a brother and a sister.
At this writing, the funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Hopkins lives in Norfolk and is expected here.

Mr. Thomas A. Ansley, who formerly lived in this city and returned to his former home in Durham, NC about a year ago, died September 11, 1911, from a complication of diseases. He leaves a wife and three children, Mr. W.B. Ansley, of this city; Mrs. J.M. Hopkins of Norfolk, and Mr. J.D. Ansley of Durham, NC. He is also survived by one brother and one sister, of Burlington, NC. The funeral was conducted from the residence, 307 Fuller street, Durham, NC, Wednesday, September 13, by Rev. Mr. Combs. Interment was made in Durham.
