Geo. W. Ausburn b. 9/1844 MS & family
The Ausburn family I am related to--but not descended from--apparently came from Mississippi about 1870 to North-Central Arkansas, where they are in 1880 & 1900 census for Baxter County:
AUSBURN

m. abt. 1865
PIERCE
Elizabeth, b. Oct. 1849, Mississippi
Children:
1) George W., b. abt. 1867, Mississippi
2) Florence Elizabeth, b. abt. 1871, Arkansas
m. Berry Randolph HUDSON;
3) Abe Buford, b. Oct. 1874, Arkansas
m. December 22, 1903 in Indian Territory, Elzetta Elyree RIDGWAY, dau. of John Almus RIDGWAY and Lydia Ann Belle McWHERTER, both b. Tennessee;
4)Mary Ellen, b. July 2, 1876, Arkansas, m. 1st) Joseph MARTIN abt. 1897; m. 2nd) Almus Daltha RIDGWAY (brother of wife of Abe Buford); d. June 26, 1964, California;

7)Sallie V., b. May 1883, m. Unknown KIRKLAND.
1900 census shows parents married 35 years with six of eight children living.1880 & 1900 census indicates migration from MS to AR from 1867 to 1871, by birth of second child in Arkansas.
Town of Buford in Baxter County, Arkansas named after third child, Abe Buford, by his father.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone connected to this family.
Elzetta Elyree RIDGWAY is my great-aunt.
