I believe name is of German Origin. I lived in Germany for 3 years, and there were a lot of Aultmans that fought battles. It appears that the named vanished in Germany and their doesn't seem to be a lot in the US either. My grandfather is an Aultman, I have have been trying to trace his family, but unfortunately I have not had any luck. My grandfather and his family are originally from Georgia. My guess is, they came from Germany, to probably Virginia, and then the families moved on from there to other states.
