Hi Bill
Thanks for the email. Glad I could assist you. There is
a lot of confusion in this line as I suspect there is some
interchanging names of Augustin and Antoine. Also due to the
fact that some quoted their birthdates as different on
different documents. Some did not know when they were
born, and spelling was a problem. You are quite right about
the spelling Pithiwinis Indians (Typo on my part-sorry and
thanks for the heads up.)
Now I have another spelling for Siyapokisikwepiw which
is Shapowkissokwepew (found this on the Metis scrip for
Justine, Magloire's sister) She is the only one I can
find so far that applied for scrip under that name or spelling. Her claim is # 684 $240.00
Agnes Siyapokisikwepiw married Alexander Lapoudre 1899 Calling Lake applied for scrip under married name Lapoudre
scrip cert form E #3340 and shows her father as Pithiwinis Indian, and Mother Eliza Auger
Now Eliza Auger's father Augustin Auger was still alive
in 1901 TT Alberta Lac La Biche e-(2) pg 6census as I
found him living with his daughter Peggy Ross/Roas and her
family. Birth date for him shows 01 Dec 1824
My Line of the Auger's Jean Baptiste moved to the St. Laurent Mb area from Lac La Biche, so my direction has mostly been on this line. I do however haveresearch on
the 1901 census of Lac La Biche ab.so if I can tie in
anything to yourEliza line I will let you know.
Are you familiar with the Metis scrip and how to access it?
If not let me know and I will provide for you
Thanks you for the web sites you quoted as I have not been
to these before and will certainly check it out
Thanks again
Have a great day
Lynda
