For everyone working on Augenstein/Augustine/Augusteen/Eyestone/Istone, I was in Germany 11/2/99 to 11/11/99 securing new records. I was able to get the complete church records of all A to Z families who were at Barbarakirch in Ellmendingen. This amounts to 203 pages of material. I have the origional, my cousin in Oregon has a copy, I gave a copy to the Morman Ch. at my E. Lansing, MI LDS branch who will extract and include in the IGI. I sent a copy to The Genealogical Society of Penna. in Philadelphia who will make a booklet or brochure with all the names listed and put out for sale. When I receive word that the book is available I will post here. My connection to the Augenstein name is via; John Augustine/Eyestone b. 1796 Alverton, E. Huntingdon Twsp., Westmorland Co., PA who married Alice Armacost Jan 17 1817 in Cleremont Co., OH, then moving to Fayette Co., IN, then to Rush Co., IN where my ggrandmother (Martha Jane Eyestone) was born in 1832. In 1845 John and Alice moved their family to Washington, Washington Co., IA. In 1856 Johan Julius Heider Esq. married Martha Jane Eyestone. Heider became the first mayor of Sigernoy, IA in 1858, then the first mayou in Oceola, IA in 1859. He then moved to Burlington, IA to set up his law practice and become the German America Insurance Broker.
