I am a direct descendant of Gaspard Auger; my research has led me to believe that he came to New France on a prison ship.
I found the following entry in PRDH:

Gaspard Auger
un faux-saulnier envoyé de France par l'ordre du roi"
[an illegal trafficker in salt sent from France by order of the king]

Arrived in New France: February 24, 1733

No one to my knowledge has yet found any baptismal act for Gaspard or marriage act for Gaspard and Marie-Jeanne Primot. If you want to exchange information about Gaspard's
descendants, I will gladly share what I have. Thom Fowler, near Toronto

PS: Gaspard's daughter Madeleine married Samuel Morrison in Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, Montreal on 1767-01-20.
