I think we are probably distant cousins because some of the names posted in the message thread looked really familiar! My father's family (Auge) is from St. Paul, from an area my father called "the flats". His name is Joseph C. Auge (born 1923). His father's name was William Henry Joseph. William had 3 sisters, Marcella, Louise and Mary(?). My dad's grandmother was a LeClaire and his grandfather's first name was Hypolite (a name common in our family). They are also related to the Sheppard's and Renville's. His family is French and Medewakanton Santee Sioux. He is also related to Chief Big Eagle and Chief Little Crow. My father said the French ancestors were fur traders who immigrated from Canada to the Minnesota area in the 1600's.
