Hi Christian, nice to hear from you. We always believed the name had French origin and I recall a deceased aunt of mine telling me the name was a Huguenot name from France and the Audas were exiled to England during the French Revolution. I have no actual proof of this, but that was her understanding.
I had assumed there were Audas in France but you are the first one I have come across.
My family resides on the East Coast of Canada. Hopefully at some stage in my life time will permit me to do some research on the origin of the name.
You may note in one of my earlier posts that I have emailed with some Audas' from the USA but very difficult to find any links.
Seems to me that the name is not very common and I assume that somewhere along the line that we have a common thread or relationship.
I came across this web site by accident a year or so ago and find it very interesting.
Appreciate your comments and look forward to hearing about any other Audas discoveries you make. Thanks again. / Dick Audas
