Hello!
I am not connected to the Auclairs, but believe I have some useful information for you. Napoleon Auclair moved to the city of Newton [Middlesex County], Massachusetts (a suburb of Boston, where he worked) some time before 1897, when he is listed in a city directory. Napoleon, his wife Rosanna, four of their children and his mother-in-law Olive "Roscoe" lived at 29 Irving Street in Newton and are listed there in the 1900 US census. The Auclairs were parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church (founded 1891) in Newton, and Napoleon is listed as a contributor to the parish's 1898 building fund. The 1905 directory of the City of Newton lists Napoleon J. Auclair as having "removed to Vermont." Shortly thereafter Napoleon and his family moved to Oregon, and the family is listed in the city of Portland [Multnomah County] in the 1910 US census. In the 1930 US census, Napoleon, Rosanna and three of their children (Walter, Florence, and Louis) are listed in Summerville Precinct of Union County Oregon. Their daughter Clara was by then living as a boarder in the town of Elgin in the same county. Napoleon (died 1936), Rosanna (died 1953), and their children Clara (died 1944), Florence (died 1969), Walter (died 1971) and Louis (died 1972) are all buried in the Hillcrest East Cemetery in Union County, Oregon.
Hope this helps!
