I think the Census man must have had difficuty in catching the baby's name in 1850 for Eshelda has a ? mark with it.good that you have a marriage certificate - that is a primary scource and to be pretty well trusted.
I am in contact with the person who runs the Longfordancestry site.A little of the material he has put up comes from the writings of James J Auchmuty whose work though extensive and fascinating is sometimes muddled and not always accurate. As I said in my last your Mattew's link to the known Auchmutys is not proven, only suggested.
If you send me your email address I can write more fully.Mine is [email protected]
The Auchmoody line is one that came to NE America years before the Auchmuty one that came in the 1740s; your Ahmuty line came later again in the mid 1850s or so, potato famine time. The Auchmoodys are centred in NY state. The others are apread all over.
Your Fannie's elder brother William married 1st on 21 Jun 1850 Elizabeth GEE, they had15 children. The eldest Matthew married about 1891 Maria KOHLENBURG and had eight children, the eldest Samuel, was Alice L Ahmuty's father. All this from Alice who with her father researched the American Ahmutys.
