I bought a book in a used bookstore in Florida with a name and date that I believe may have a connection to your post. The name is D.J. Auchmoody, the date is February 27, 1869, and under the name is written "Rondout". It is all hand written in pencil. Rondout is a city, like Rifton, in Ulster County, New York. I can only assume that the two individuals have a close common ancestor. Have you any information of a D.J. Auchmoody? It is so interesting to me to find such personal items of the past. There are several poems and thoughts handwritten among the pages as well...(The date of publication of one book is 1851; however, I bought several books of D.J.Auchmoody).
