I'm attempting to find the father of William Atwood who was married to Elizabeth Ann Miles. William was born 1792 in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth in Lincoln County, TN on 17 Nov 1814. Shortly after 1821, he moved to Laclede County, MO and lived there until he died. Elizabeth was the daughter of Leonard Miles. There's a connection with the Miles family and the Hatwoods of Orange County, NC that hints that William Atwood may be the grandson of Thomas Hatwood, Sr but I can't find the evidence. I believe his brother was a Thomas Atwood born 1794 who went to Lawrence County, Alabama and then to Cherokee County, Texas.
Any help would be much appreciated.
