I can say that the earliest record of a "John" Atwell is 1642! Location is Maryland. His son "John Atwell" is said to have married a "Anne Lewis (Atwell)in Maryland.
They had children in Maryland and it's believed "Anne Lewis" had a son "Benjamin" (after she and John re-located) to North Carolina. Benjamin's Birth Date is the same as Anne Lewis death date so it's believed she died giving birth to "Benjamin"
From there "John Atwell" re-married twice and had children from each marriage and he died in "Green County Kentucky" and is buried at "Alvie Kessler Farms" in Kentucky.I can send you the site of the "Houk" cemetary where you can pull information of tombstone dates.
