There is a book called the "Genealogical Record of the Atlee Family" by Edwin Atlee Barber, A.M., published in Philadelphia in 1884.You can sometimes find a reprint of the book through search systems, or find it in a library (DAR Library in DC has a copy).
It lists Jacob Strickler Atlee, b. in Richard, VA, March 8, 1839; m. June 30, 1864, Sarah Ann Smith, b. September 24, 1838, of Edenton, N.C.The children listed are:
Margaret Bell Atlee, b. April 17, 1865; d.Nov. 16, 1869.
George Smith Atlee, b. May 20, 1867.
Eleanor Lavinia Atlee, b. March 4, 1869.
Mary Evans Atlee, b. March 28, 1871.
Jacob Strickler Atlee, b. Sep. 9, 1872.
Sarah Ann Atlee, b. Jan. 14, 1874.
Henry Houston Atlee, b. April 14, 1876.
Lillian Gertrude Atlee, b. Oct. 26, 1878.
Lorena Knight Atlee, b. Jun 15, 1880.
Ida James Atlee, b. Aug. 15, 1882.
Only 10 are listed...maybe the last one was born after the publication date.
There is a tale in the book about Robin Hood and Sir Richard at the Lee, and also about Sir John Atte Lee, from the Parish of Wibonbury, County of Chester. The Fordhook estate (and I've been buying lima beans of that name ever since I found out I was an Atlee descendant), lies in the Parish of Acton, a short distance out of London. It was in the Atlee family until the early 1700's, I believe. The Atlees of Fordhook House are buried in Acton Church, near the chancel and next to the Walpole family.
Joseph Strickler Atlee was the son of Joseph Strickler Atlee (1810-?) and Mary Evans, dr. of John and Margaret Evans of Columbia, PA.
Joseph Strickler (Sr.) was the son of Samuel John Atlee (1772-1839) and Martha Strickler, daughter of Jacob and Sarah Strickler of Lancaster, PA.
Samuel John Atlee was the third son of Samuel John and Sarah Richardson Atlee. The earlier Samuel John was born in Trenton, NJ, in 1739.He was the second son of William Atlee and his wife, Jane Alcock Atlee. Those last two were born in England.
There are a couple of other published sources for Atlee family material. My line is from William Augustus, first son of William and Jane Alcock Atlee, and the name has been handed down in my family for several generations...I have an uncle, William Atlee McCarty, and even a cat named Atlee myself.
