Clifton Journal -- Friday, February 20, 2009 Clifton -- Services were held for Rosemarie Boylan Atkinson, 80, of this city, who died on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009. Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Atkinson was a resident of Clifton for the past 35 years. She was a paralegal for P&O Corp. before retiring in 1993. Previously, she was the secretary of the corporation at the former All Trans Group and was a member of the legal department at Walter Kidde & Co. Inc., Clifton. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton, where she was president of the St. Andrew's Mothers Auxiliary and the Rosary Society, chairman of the first parish census, a member of the 39ers, and an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. She was a Democratic County committeewoman representing the Allwood section of Clifton during the 1980s as well. Services were Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church. Interment was at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Andrew R.C. Church or to the Lungevity Foundation, 435 N. LaSalle St., Suite 310, Chicago, IL 60654. Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her daughter, Ellen, of San Francisco; her son, Paul, of Pleasantville, N.Y.; her brother, Michael Boylan, of Point Pleasant; her sister, Kathleen Chester, of Jersey City; and two granddaughters.
