I am seeking information about ELIZABETH ATKINS who was born about 1810 and married JAMES ANDERSON HUFFMAN in the early to mid 1850's in Giles County, Virginia.
Apparently they had a son named WILLIAM ANDREW HUFFMAN.
What little information I have indcates that ELIZABETH ATKINS' parents were MOSES ATKINS and his wife MARY HUNTER. MOSES was born September 15, 1773 and died April 16, 1839. He and MARY HUNTER married on December 23, 1794 in Montgomery County, Virginia. MARY HUNTER was born in 1779 and died in 1857 at the age of 87.
MARY HUNTER was the daughter of ROBERT HUNTER and his wife MILDRED (SURNAME UNKNOWN.
ROBERT HUNTER was born before 1755 and died about 1828. His will was probated in 1829. According to #2 DAR information, he served in the Battle of Point Pleasant, was appointed to oversee a road, and owned land on the south side of Johns Creek Mountain.
His will lists one granddaughter, ELIZABETH KIRK.
I would very much appreciate the assistance of anyone having information regarding any of these people, their ancestors and relatives, in-laws and outlaws.
