According to research material that I have been given, Benjamin Atkins b. 1730 in Va, died abt 1810 in Laurens County, SC. Children listed were William, Benjamin, Abram b. 1765 in VA, and Thomas b. abt 1770 SC. He was married to Eve ???

About 1770 Benjamin along with his brother's John, Francis and a sister moved from VZ to SC. They settled in the Ninety-Six District, in the area that was later to become Newberry County.

On "A List of Grand Jury Men" for Ninety-Six District, SC 1779 in the Cuffy Town and Turkey Creek area are the names: Benjamin Atkins, Francis Atkins and John Atkins. Reference "The History of Newberry County, SC by Sumner.

Benjamin probably died in Laurens Co.SC before 1810. He lived in Newberry Co., SC for more than 30 years. He sold his land in Newberry Co., about 1797 and moved later to Laurens Co.

I have a little more information about son Abraham "Abram" and son Thomas.

Hope this helps in your search; let me know if I can be of more help.
