James Atkins may be my great-great-great-grandfather. His son (?), Zacharias Taylor Atkins, was born in Tenn in 1848 (March 4); Zack's wife was Savannah Pearce Atkins (b. 1849, Miss). We know his father was "Jim Atkins" of Tennessee.
Zachariah, Savannah and family (Calvin, Anna, Emma, Coleman, Sarah, Mary, Richard, Betty, Frank, Susie) show in the 1880-1890 Bell County, Texas Census (which also shows Zack's father and mother to be from Tenn.).
Can you provide me with more information about James Atkins in Tenn? I'll gladly send you 4pp of info I have about Zack and his branch up to present!
Zacharias is 30 years old and a farmer, according to 1880 Census.
