I have a question concerning your John H. Atkins. You list him as being born about between 1790-1794 in Wake County, NC. Married in 1825 to an Elizabeth Stanley. Do you have the marriage bond specific date?
I am searching for a John H. Atkins born likely about this same time that married a Sarah "Sally" Ferrell in Wake County, NC on Dec 7, 1816. Sarah was listed as a daughter in the Will of William Ferrell that died in 1824 in Wake County. She was listed as Sarah Atkins.
In 1850 Census for Dist. 7, Gibson County, Tenn. Sarah (Adkins) age 56 is listed as the head of household with four children age 27-18. All born in NC. She is living next to her sisters family Rebecca Ferrell Massey, Wiley Massey age 65 husband, and daughter Louisa age 22. All born in NC.
John H. Atkins was also the bondsman for the marriage of wife's sister, Gilley Ferrell to Oswald Singleton in Wake County, NC 9 Dec. 1822. Gilley apparently died and Oswald is found later in McNairy County, Tenn. married to a Sabila from NC.
If you have any new information on this family connected to the Ferrell line I would appreciate it.
