Looking for parents of Josiah Randolph Atkins born 16 Apr 1804 somewhere in NC. Family story says that Josiah had an older brother, Jack. Josiah and Jack are said to have joined a wagontrain bound for west Tennessee where Atkins and Thomason relatives have already gone. This happens about 1820-23. Josiah,Jack and their father decide to part company after they have been "batching" it for a while, so the unknown mother and wife is deceased by 1820. Josiah and Jack settle in Henry County, Tennessee and later Josiah moves to Weakley County. On the wagontrain trip, Josiah meets Rebecca Jones and they are soon married after reaching Tennessee. Can someone please help me with this group??? I have no idea when in NC they orginated from either!
