FIRST GENERATION

1. Jane** ATKINS -C (7GP) was born in 1644 in England. She died on August 5, 1692 in Rancocas, New Jersey.

She was married to Thomas** FRENCH I-C (7GP) (son of Thomas** FRENCH The Elder-C (8GP) and Sara** WOOD -C (8GP) ) on August 12, 1660 in Parish Church of Whilton, England. Thomas** FRENCH I-C (7GP) was born on October 29, 1639 in England. He was baptised on November 3, 1639 in Church S.S. Peter & Paul, Nether Haford, England. He was Society of Friends in 1650. From: Burlington, A Provincial Capital by Decou; 'When a youth, Thomas French joined the Society of Friends and in 1657, when only eighteen years of age, he was imprisoned for refusing to pay tithes for the support of the Established Church.' He served a mission in 1676 in Signed Concessions and Agreements of W. New Jersey. Thomas French, along with Wm. Penn, signed the Concessions and Agreements of Western New Jersey in 1676, which provided the approval of King Charles II to found the colony of New Jersey in America and chose his lands in Rancocas, Burlington County, New Jersey. He owned West Jersey in 1680. From: Burlington, A Provincial Capital by Decou; 'In November, 1680, he purchased 1/8 of a share of land in West Jersey from John Woolston and as a proprietor his name appears as a signer of the Concessions and Agreements. Under this proprietary right he located 600 acres on Rancocas Creek below the village of Rancocas in 1684. Franklin Park Farm,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
is part of the French plantation. T. Harvey Buzby, a direct descendant of Thomas French, owned the Park Farm until 1940.' He immigrated on July 23, 1680 to Burlington Co., NJ, America. Family Bible entry: 'I and my wife and 9 children through the great mercy of God, came into this country and landed at Burlington, the 23rd of 7mo. 1680.'
Arrived on the Ship Kent with William Penn. He died in 1699 in Wellingborough Tsp. Burlington Co., New Jersey. He signed a will Prov.May 3,1699 in Burlington Co., NJ. Will states he is about to sail for England and devises to his wife Elizabeth 420 acres of land in New Jersey and 200 to his son Charles; mentions land at Nether Heyford, England. Jane** ATKINS -C (7GP) and Thomas** FRENCH I-C (7GP) had the following children:

       +10       ix.       Jane FRENCH -C (born in 1676).
       +11       x.       Lydia FRENCH -C (born in 1682).
