According to W.E.BRockman - Spencer's family was:
Joseph Atkins b. 5-27-1755, Orange Co., Va., son of John Atkins and Susannah Brockman.
Joseph married Mildred James. M. James dau of Samuel James and Mildred Taliaferro.
John Atkins left will 7-8-1808 (B.4.,p.385) and states Joseph is dead, left property to sons Spencer and Jonathan.
Their children were:
Spencer Atkins, Sarah Atkins, Joseph m. Mary Mills Dickinson, and Jonathan Atkins m. Molly Quisenberry.
Spencer married Rebecca Yancey 6-11-1795
they had:
Elizabeth, b. 6-14-1796 m. James Waller
Catlet (female) b. 1799
Anna Maria, b. 1801 m. Robert )or Corbet)Campbell
Leighton Yancy b. 1803
This is from W.E. Brockman's Orange Co. Va. Families (four volumes - I think this page from the fourth - the Brockman Scrapbook).
Brockman's facts are not always correct - in another space he says Rebecca Young with a Miss Yancey as a "cousin".
I think the marriage records state the Spencer - Yancey Marriage.
Brockman collected info from anyone who sent it in and reported much of it as such.
