Hello,
I am new to geneology and am becoming interested in finding some of the "rest" of the story. I live on the alabama/mississippi line and my line of atkins has been here since the early 1800's (5 generations).
My grandmother whom is 95 this year, cant remember anything earlier, and most of my info comes from prev. atkins in the area. No info before Spencer, whom married Milly Franks (she was from South Carolina).
Spencer had a child by the name of John H. Atkins and this similarity, along with the fact that "my" atkins fought for the north in the 1st Alabama Calvary, lead me to beleave that we are on similar lines.
Any info is greatly appriciated.
