Hi Linda,

Sorry to have been so long getting back to you - it doesn't seem that long since my post. I will have to watch these closer.

As for Willie Atkins.

John Jr and Nancy had only two children that I know of - Elizabeth and Susannah (mentioned in the follow-up post). Take a look at my latest in answer to Clara.

With all those Orange Co. names, you are certainly in the right family - just not quite the right pew yet.

John Jr. is one of the children of John Sr. and Susannah Brockman (not Sarah). They had:
b. 1754 Frankie-according to John's will-Frances m. Harris:
b.1755 Joseph m. Millie James:
b.1757 John Jr. m. Nancy Burrus:
b.1759 Susan m. Landrum:
b. 1760 Jonathon died Rev.:
b. 1762 Ann arried Joseph Atkins:
b. 1764 Hezekiah (I think this is the one who married Sally Chiles. in 1788.)
b. 1767 Mary (I think this is the one who married John Groom - he left John A. 50£ probably for her:
b. 1769 Sarah m. Johnson:
b. 1771 Martha ?:
b. 1773 Sarah Lydia, (Lydia) m. Tally
1775 Rhodie m. Bell
1778 - Rebecca also m. Landrum.

Your Willie is prossibly from one of these if he is from Orange.

I have just now come to the conclusion that Hezekiah has a lot of ties to my Atkins-Groom puzzle and may be the father of my Achilles who married the daughter of Eliz. Atkins, dau of John who married a Groom.

Eliz. Atkins Groom had a brother Solomon who married a Chiles.

Emund Burrus who was Nancy Burrus Atkins father had a son Edmund who moved to Mercer Co. Ky. A whole bunch of O. Co. families did the same as you noticed.

John Jr. had only two girls as far as is known. His pension applications names my Eliz. but Susannah m. Henry Bell and went to KY. Nancy was according to the application 80 - older than John, but I think that is a misprint. I think she was 60. At any rate, if she was older that might account for only two children. She may have been a daughter of Edmund Burrus's first wife, as she is older then than she would be if she were Mary Wisdom Perry's daughter, I think.

Keep in touch - I shall be interested to see what you come up with.

Pat
