Locate W.E. Brockman's Orange Co. Va. families.

The line of John Atkins Sr is pretty much laid out there - he had a son Spencer who married Rebecca Yancey. There is a lot of info on this very involved and confusing Orange Co. Family. My own ancestor was John, Jr.

Brockman's book has four volumes, one of which is a scrapbook. You will have to double check the facts - much of this material is "sent" to him. There is tons of material in here.

The Douglas Register is another good place to start.
